Siki Im, a German born fashion designer with a penchant for american sportswear provides us with his latest fall 2012 collection. In high school, Siki Im played basketball predominantly and in doing so he seemingly draws influence from anything athletic such as Nike trainers to baggy Champion sweatshirts.
Siki Im’s collection, set in a prep-school gymnasium pays homage to his youth whilst providing an ideal platform to showcase his directional range. With eye catching prints and stripes appearing on aprons that peak from beneath long parkas and bombers, layered over drawstring tunics and sleeveless knit jerseys which, creates a sense of playfulness to his collection. I like how Siki Im combines a love for fashion and basketball to convey fun and practicality.
